Season begins mid-November
Gabriel Rivera currently serves as Director of Volleyball at Hill Country Indoor. He also is the Recruiting Coordinator for Texas Eclipse Volleyball. Gabriel comes to us originally from New York, but has been living in Austin for the past two years. Upon his arrival he became part of the Texas Eclipse coaching staff and has been responsible for multiple top teams in the program, including 4 teams at Hill Country Indoor. He brings a wide range of experience and knowledge, having coached men’s and women’s volleyball at the collegiate level. As Director of Volleyball, Gabriel will be responsible for not only the club teams, but for the oversight of all volleyball activities. This includes youth and adult recreational leagues, tournaments, summer camps, private lessons, and skill-specific clinics. Gabriel played volleyball for Long Island Volleyball Club (LIVBC) in high school and went on to have a successful playing career at Baruch College in New York City. Gabriel will continue to improve on an already tremendous volleyball culture at Hill Country Indoor, developing and inspiring athletes to reach their highest potential.
Hiring coaches with volleyball playing and coaching experience is crucial, but the most important thing to us is choosing coaches that are serious about making a difference in young people’s lives. Most athletes will not play competitive sports past the high school level, but our influence, even in this short amount of time, will last a lifetime. We have a demand, don’t demean philosophy, and work very hard to give our coaches the appropriate tools to follow through with that.
We’re looking to hire referees for all sports! Positions will begin in the Fall with training and certification opportunities at the end of the Summer. The minimum age requirement is sixteen years old upon position start date. Contact us for more information.
Camps and Clinics:
Seasonal camps are available as well as some position-specific clinics during school holidays and breaks. Group training is an excellent way for athletes to fine tune individual skills in a game-like setting.
Hill Country Indoor will provide private volleyball instruction for players of all levels and with a variety of performance goals. Session can be booked with coaches and trainers based on availability.
