HCI BRAINFOOD

Second Monday of the Month- Lunch & Learn Style Presentations

The HCI Brainfood series is a speaker presentation designed specifically for our members and our community, including student athletes and their parents, entrepreneurs, families and more.

HCI Brainfood takes place from 11am-1pm on the second Monday of each month. Lunch from the Back Porch Café is included in registration!

March 11th - Injury Prevention

11am – 1pm

Members $10, Non-Members $15

Dr. Marcus Cantu and Dr. Matt Crozier from Austin Sports Medicine team up with the coaches from HCI’s Athletes In Motion to speak on how to properly prepare the human body and prevent injuries. This hands-on, interactive session will focus on three major topics: ACL injury prevention, throwing injury prevention and injury prevention of the aging athlete. Come learn and engage from the best in the business while enjoying lunch from the Back Porch Café!

April 8th - Nutrition

11am – 1pm

Members $10, Non-Members $15

Come learn the importance of nutrition for athletic performance from the Director of Performance and Athletes In Motion, Matt Herring. This session will focus on food as fuel and breakdown the necessary components of an athlete’s diet. Be prepared to engage while enjoying lunch from the Back Porch Café!

May 13th - Managing Stress

11am – 1pm

Juggling the stress of academics and athletic performance can seem impossible in today’s society. Kathleen Hassenfratz, licensed counselor and a leader in the mental health industry, and Matt Herring, Director of Performance and Athletes In Motion, will lead the discussion on coping with stress in the classroom and on the field. Be prepared to engage while enjoying lunch from the Back Porch Café!

Parenting Toolkit Series

KH COUNSELING AND INSPIRATION joins tune into life – parenting toolkit series

Ever wonder why your pre-teen/teen struggles in today’s environment of continuous social media, school pressure and basic human development? Perhaps your son/daughter appears to have “it” together, yet doesn’t communicate with you, leaving you uncertain of how successfully, or happily, they’re developing? Join us in a 3-part series to gain understanding, knowledge and tools to equip you to feel more confident in navigating the landscape of today’s teen.

This will include three 1.5 hour seminars designed to better equip parents with actual tools to support their youth’s development with a “whole child” approach to positive mental development (emotional, physical and academic domains of life).

Fee includes take-away tools and an individualized 15 minute phone consultation with Kathleen (in the following week).

Topics included in Parent Toolkit Seminar Series:
-Deeper look at relationships and family support
-Substance Neurobiology and Addiction Behaviors
-Mental Health: depression, anxiety, eating disorders, social behavior, risky behavior
-Healthy Lifestyle: coping skills, sleep, exercise, food, online/media consumption
-Communication Style: assertive vs aggressive and passive aggressive

Please reserve space for the full number of guests that you are inviting. We want to ensure that enough space in the facility is reserved to accommodate all of your guests comfortably.

  • You will only pay for the number of participants that exceeds the number in the package you select. You will be charged for each additional guest based on the per participant cost for that package.
  • We understand that changes happen! If you need to add guests to your party, simply let us know at least seven days prior to event so that we can adjust accordingly.
  • No outside food or drinks are allowed in the building with the exception of the birthday cake. Birthday cake is not provided although Hill Country Indoor has partnered with Gigi's Cupcakes to provide you with the option to pick up a Birthday Cake or Cupcakes on the day of your celebration at a discount! Email them your confirmation email and proof of booking to get 10% off your order!
  • Waivers are required for each participant and can be filled out online (coming soon) or in person at the facility.
  • Payment: We require a deposit equal to 50% of the expected total in order to reserve your event. We accept cash and all major credit/debit cards. Checks are not accepted. The remainder amount of the event balance is due on the day of the celebration.
  • Cancellation: If you need to cancel or reschedule your event, we require 14 days advance notice from your event date. If you submit with the required 14 days advanced notice, your deposit will remain as a credit on your account to be used towards a celebration up to one year from the original date of your event. If you provide less than 14 days notice or do not show up on the day of your event, your deposit is forfeited.
