2020 NEW YEAR’S FITNESS RESOLUTIONS
YOUR BODY WILL THANK YOU
Well, it’s here. A brand new year full of possibility and promise! It makes us assess what went well in the past year, what didn’t and what we want to make happen in 2020. So, with good intentions, we make some New Year’s Resolutions.
Whether you’re just beginning with workouts, or if you want to amp up your current program, you may be setting some resolutions for your fitness routine. If so, consider a few things that can make all the difference in ACCOMPLISHING your goals.
Your Goals Should Be:
SPECIFIC, MEASURABLE, ACHIEVABLE, TIME SPECIFIC
STEPS FOR SUCCESS
Follow These Steps to Attainable Results
> Make 1 to 3 long-term fitness goals spreading over 6 to 12 months. Example: I want to run a half marathon by end of 2020
> Now, break the long-term goals down to medium-term goals that spread over the next 3 months.
> Next, break the medium-term goals down to short-terms that last up to 4 weeks.
> Set weekly targets to help you stay on track.
”The New York Times recently stated that around 80% of people who made new year's resolutions have failed by the time February rolled around. Why? If you can't stick to your resolutions for six weeks, something has to be wrong with them. Set MANAGEABLE resolutions!
THE BOTTOM LINE
There is no single reason that we fail to stick to our goals (or resolutions). Remember, these changes would not be on our minds if we didn’t feel they were important to us. Sometimes life just gets in the way. Don’t let anything get in the way of you meeting your health and fitness goals. YOU GOT THIS!
